[00:00:00] Speaker A: Take a walk with Bianca through the fire, through the faith. We walk with freedom.
We walk with fulfillment.
We walk with truth.
We walk with purpose. And we walk with seats.
[00:00:21] Speaker B: So I finished my workout this morning, and I feel really great. I am here at the pool to do some work really quick before I do aqua therapy and to record the power walk. So let's let me get in formation because I'm doing this a bit differently than how I've done it before. Okay.
Good morning, Happy Wednesday, and welcome to the power walk. You know what time it is? So. Hi, how you doing? I hope that you're having an amazing day. I am just here to just say that I am so grateful. There's a lot of things that we need to discuss in limited time, so please be intentional and govern yourselves accordingly with these announcements.
Oh, I miss Morning Tea and Allegations so bad. Oh, my gosh.
So to give you context, if you don't know, Morning Tea and Allegations was one of my piloted shows on the Teaching for the Culture Network, is one of the first programs that ever touched the scene with teaching for the Culture. I have been featured in the media for the things that I've uncovered and reported on, and we are still out here doing the work. Four seasons strong, but to take a hiatus for a multitude of different reasons. When I came back for season four, we were good. We were strong. But then there was some movements and changes and things happening to where now I'm like, y', all, your girl is tired. Morning Tea and Allegations was a live show, and I really struggled getting back into the live format, and I'll have to dive deeper into that a bit later. But I just want to say for the folks that miss the show, I miss it, too. And for those of you that have missed any of the episodes, I implore you to go back and see the different seasons because the same things that I was talking about back then are the same things that I am highlighting now.
Okay, I am talking about the same thing.
All right?
When I tell you God is so good and in the midst of the chaos, in the midst of the things, I am just here to uplift that there is a vision that is in side of you and until you execute it, everything else is going to fall apart until you do it. I'm not saying this out of judgment. I'm not saying this because I want it to happen. I am telling you my testimony and also uplifting that if you are not aligned in your purpose, everything else that you do outside of it is not going to work. Because it's not in alignment. So I am here using my voice to tell you that you have a purpose, you have a vision. There are things that are inside of you that maybe no one even knows, but you need to bring that out to fruition. And if you need some help and a thought partner, book some time with me on the Calendar. Go to www.biancaggoolsbee.com. 30 minutes is for free. And if you want some more intentional time, there are booking options available based on what your needs are. When I tell you I've been doing this work for so many years, flashbacking to the time where I was in Jacksonville, Florida, serving as the creative director for the Jacksonville Black Chamber of commerc, going through different organizations, different businesses, nonprofits, being able to be a recipient of a $50,000 grant for a coworking space in St. Petersburg, Florida. I mean, I have done a lot of things in my career, some that I actually need to write down. So this is the homework assignment that I'm giving myself, but also giving you, too.
I want you to write out the things that are going to give you joy. I want you to write out the things that you have been.
That you have been achieving. I am telling you, please be intentional with your gifts. Please be intentional with telling people of your gifts. Y' all see what's going on?
Y' all see the economy?
You see how AI up in here, through there, you see people losing their jobs left and right.
There has been no deep dive that I've seen yet. And if you see it, please let me know because I've been looking for it. There are over 600,000 black women that were laid off this year.
Where are they now? I will tell you. Many of them are still unemployed, looking for employment opportunities. And some of them have created businesses. Some of them have created organizations. Some people are just trying to figure out how they're going to make it from day to day. Not even month to month, just day to day.
So it's time for us to put these gifts together. It's time that we are intentional with our gifts and being able to help each other. Because I don't know what else to tell you. You see the things that are crumbling around here. It is wild.
So as I was doing my workout, I started to reflect on just life and what I want to be known for. And when I leave this earth, what will people say?
Now, I try not to subscribe too much to what people say, but I do care about what people think about me as well. I am a pk I don't know if you know, I'm a preacher's kid. So I have dealt with my life being high visible and high scrutiny for a long time now. I had a very high visible life, in my opinion because there was a lot of people looking to me me because of the status of my father. Speaking of which, my dad is starting his real estate business. And so if you're looking to purchase and to sell a home in Tallahassee, call my pops. He got you taken care of. He will make sure that you good to go. Making sure that you get the best rates, the great terms and that you work with somebody that you can trust. Because it's important in these industries that you find people that you can work with and trust.
Which I'm so glad that this is the hard pivot that we need to make because I am going to do a deeper dive on this topic because it's very, very important.
I do have the consent of the organization that this happened to, to amplify their story as long as I keep them as private as possible as it relates to outing them. Because it is a risk that this happened. It also can be a risk for you if you're not intentional in having steps and things in place that they probably should have had that they didn. And so here we are. So digital hijacking, basically. In this particular scenario, we have a board that have different board members and they rotate every year per their bylaws. They have an election process and that's how things work.
After the election, one of the members decided that they did not want to turn over their login credentials. So that prevented the organization from getting access to key details and information.
Let me tell you again, okay? There was a person that served on the board for an organization and they did not want to provide their login credentials that they were using for the organization, which caused obstacles for the organization to move forward.
You have organizations that are created where people are using their personal Gmail account to conduct business. And when they're no longer there, you have no, no access to the records and the things that are in their personal Gmail account unless you were a party to the correspondence or it was forwarded to you.
So unfortunately, there are certain things that happen where you need to protect yourself. Google Workspace gives nonprofit email access for free.
You have to verify your status and you have to go through the stubs. I'm going to put the link here so that you can see it and go through the process if you are a registered nonprofit.
But if you're a registered nonprofit. You can get Google Workspace for free. So different people on your board and on your staff for the nonprofit has all of their correspondence within the ecosystem. So if there's any transition, you maintain and retain the data. Okay.
I see so many organizations that have a lot of great ideas and they're doing a lot of work in the community, but their digital hygiene sucks. Their digital hygiene stinks. So much. So they're using the same passwords for all of these different systems and tools. That puts them at a very compromising situation if they get hacked. There are now AI tools that are created to literally scan passwords and mass place them into fields to see if they'll get a hit.
And it's been working.
And people have been successful with cracking passwords and unlocking systems and gaining access to unauthorized things.
I shared in one of my receipt alerts. I'll put the screenshot here. You literally have Florida drivers compromised right now. Why?
A Plant City Police department employee had information on their personal device that ended up getting hacked.
And because of that hack, over 200,000 records compromised in this situation. Again, going back to digital hygiene. Going back to being intentional with the things that you do on your phone and on your computer and your tablet and even gaming devices, guys, even gaming devices. Going back to your children, what do your children have access to? But okay, I'm not trying to get too deep into the web, but I want to go back to the story.
The organization struggled so much so to get access to vital information because of their digital tech stack and how they were organizing things.
And so I am providing you a free worksheet for those that are nonprofit founders for you to log your passwords, and also resources for you to have a password manager, which is highly recommended in 2026 and beyond because there's no way that you can REM all these passwords. It's not designed for you to. And now with the different passkeys and the mfas multifactor authentications, it's really, really important that you have all of this together so that you're not texting people. Where's the code? What's the code?
When technically you shouldn't be sharing these codes in the first place. It's important that we have conversations about digital hygiene because organizations and businesses are being compromised every single day. So I am going to go do my thing. Like I said, I worked out about to get in this pool, but before I do that, I gotta send some emails and handle some things before I get in the water. Because I really want to spend some time in the water today. But I just wanted to just tell you on this podcast episode that we need to have better digital hygiene. And organizations are literally being hijacked by people who you don't want to release information for whatever reason that is. But also sometimes the structure and the way that we have it sets it up for failure. So I'm going to uplift that. If you have a registered nonprofit, again, Google Workspace is free, and you just need to provide all of your details and you'll be able to go through that process to get approved.
And for those of you that have a business, I recommend Google Workspace.
I'm not a fan of Microsoft Outlook and the Microsoft 365 and all of that. I am a Google girl, okay? If I had to choose between Google and Microsoft, which is essentially what's happening here, I'm going to choose Google all day. And I do have coupon codes. If you are a business that want to save 10% for the entire year, but you have to reach out to me because I cannot publish those coupon codes online.
So if you want a coupon code to get 10% off, I do have limited coupon codes available.
So reach out to me and tell me that you need the coupon code for the Google business plan, and I got you. And if you're a nonprofit, go through the process to get it free, okay?
It's too much at stake to not be intentional with what you're doing on these computers. Be intentional with the links that you click on. There are so many phishing scams that are happening all over.
Please, please, please be mindful. And also, these same conversations that I'm having with you, we also need to have with our children as well, because our children are getting into things and having access to things that they might not need access to that actually might be compromising their SIT system and your system if they're connected to the home network. We have seen children compromise school networks because of some of the things that they have visited and been on. So the same applies at school as it does at home. What a child does at school that compromises the network can compromise the entire school network. It could compromise your network, too, meaning your devices and all the things that are connected to your home WI fi.
So I'm gonna stop yapping now and finish doing the things. But it was really on my heart to tell you to please be intentional with your digital hygiene, because digital hijacking is a thing. In this particular case, this interruption severely impacted this organization to where now they are reconsidering policies and having forms signed by board members to more accountability in place moving forward.
So y' all have an amazing day.
I'm sending y' all love, light and peace. And until next time, peace up.
[00:15:22] Speaker A: Speak up. Show up.
We walk with truth and we walk with receipt.
Lace up. Speak up, show up.
